Shannon Warne was raised in Maple Grove, MN. Through
the support and encouragement of her family, she has been involved in music
and theatre her entire life.
Shannon began singing in public at the age
of five and made her first theater appearance in My
Fair Lady at the local high school when she was just seven years old. Growing
up, she performed in at least four productions a year in both community
and academic theatre. Shannon has had years of classical and music theatre
vocal training. She began studying voice at the age of 16, competing and
winning honors in both regional and state-wide competitions. Due to the
guidance of her many mentors, she was encouraged to grow in versatility
and professionalism at a very young age.
Shannon graduated with a B.A.
in Performing Arts from Minnesota State University,
Moorhead where she met her husband Tom Musgrave. The couple moved
to Minneapolis, MN to begin their lives and careers together.
While in Minneapolis, she performed with many renowned
theatres such as: the Guthrie
Theater,
the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts,
Park Square Theatre, Hey
City Theatre, Theater Latté Da,
and more.
Shannon
and Tom moved in August of 2002 to Los Angeles, CA. Shannon returned home to LA this summer following an eight-month run as Nimue in the national tour of Camelot starring Michael York. She was thrilled to perform opposite Mr York in the role of Guenevere on six occasions, including opening night in Philadelphia. Following her time on the road Shannon received high praise from critics in the role of Milly in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers with Cabrillo Music Theatre. In 2006, Shannon spent her second season with the Sacramento
Music Circus where she appeared as Tzeitel in Fiddler
on the Roof.
She debuted with SMC in their 2004 season as Kate in
The Pirates of Penzance. Shannon appeared in Getty
Villa's
inaugural production, Hippolytos and performed
in Baz Luhrmann's production of Puccini's La Boheme at
the Ahmanson
Theatre in Los Angeles,
for which she received a 2004 Ovation
Award. Shannon
has also appeared at/with: McCoy Rigby
Entertainment,
the Hudson Theatre, the Coast
Playhouse, Interact Theatre Company,
and more. She was thrilled to appear in the 2006 NAMT
New Works Showcase hosted by Betty Garrett
and Richard Sherman. Shannon continues to work with the
creators of the Ovation Award-winning new musical Empire. The
role of Emily is one she created 2003 at the Hudson Theatre. She will be returning to MSUM this summer to take part in their Straw Hat Players reunion celebration season in Beehive. Shannon is currently performing the role of Estella in the world premiere of the new musical Great Expectations at the Hudson Theatre in Hollywood.
Shannon enjoys traveling between New York and Los Angeles meeting and
working with so many incredible and talented people. She continues to work
toward her goal of becoming a Broadway performer and loves her job! Shannon
is a proud member of both Actor’s
Equity and the Screen Actors Guild.
